Puyallup Custom Cabinets and Countertops

We met this customer at the Tacoma Remodeling Expo.  They were a young couple on a tight budget with big plans. They recently purchased a fixer upper in downtown Puyallup and planned to do the majority of work themselves to save money, but knew that installing cabinets and fabricating quartz or granite countertops is well beyond their DIY skill set.

Like many old homes, their existing galley kitchen was very cramped and had very limited storage.  Because moving walls and plumbing was not in the budget, it was extremely important that the cabinets provided as much function and storage as possible within the space.  After visiting the home and discussing their goals and style preferences we came up with a great design that met their budget as well as their needs.

We went with the Holton door style from the Yorktowne Iconic Series in Divinity White Paint.  Like all Yorktowne Cabinets, all of the doors and drawers are soft close, dovetailed and full extension.  To maximize the small space we included a pull out spice rack next to the oven and a tray divider over the refrigerator.  We also increased the depth of the wall cabinets to add even more storage with minimal cost.

The countertops are Pental Artic Quartz fabricated in our Tacoma location that really complement the slightly off-white of the painted cabinets while adding just a touch of dark highlights to contrast them.

They plan to finish it off by installing a tile backsplash and a new floor themselves.
